About the General Representation

The General Representation of the Government of Flanders in the United Kingdom and Ireland is the diplomatic presence of Flanders, a regional government of the federal country of Belgium that enjoys full treaty making powers. The General Representation is based in London, where, as a part of the Embassy of Belgium, it represents and defends all the interests of the Government of Flanders in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The General Representation is the first point of contact for all issues related to the Government of Flanders and its competences. These devolved powers include education & research, arts & culture, the environment & infrastructure, agriculture & fisheries, economy & employment.

Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT) promotes international businesses in Flanders in a sustainable way as a key factor in the social and economic development of our region. FIT supports the international activities of Flemish companies and attracts foreign investors to Flanders. They assist, support and stimulate companies in international business and offer tailored advice and guidance. Companies can call on FIT’s network of contacts both at home and abroad. Giving financial support and information on a wide range of financial incentives are also part of FIT’s services. 

Visit Flanders is an independent government agency with a mandate to promote tourism in Flanders, including Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Leuven and Mechelen.

All three entities operate from Flanders House, located at 1A Cavendish Square in London.
Flanders Investment & Trade has additional offices in Edinburgh and in Dublin.
