About the General Representation

The General Representation in London is the diplomatic point of contact for the Government of Flanders in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and is a part of the Embassy of Belgium.

The General Representation looks after issues linked to the competences of the Government of Flanders. The devolved powers to Flanders include, amongst others, education & research, arts & culture, the environment & infrastructure, agriculture & fisheries, economy and employment.

More specifically, the General Representation reports about relevant political and other developments in the United Kingdom, meets and coordinates with British and Irish partners, and accompanies incoming delegations of Flemish ministers, members of the Flemish Parliament and officials. Furthermore, the General Represenation organises and supports initiatives to strengthen the relations between Flanders, the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Our colleagues at Flanders Investment & Trade deal with companies for trade and investment. Visit Flanders is responsible for the promotion of Flanders as a top destination for tourists. The three Flemish administrations all work together in Flanders House. Flanders Investment & Trade has additional offices in Edinburgh and in Dulbin.
