The General Representation of the Government of Flanders in the United Kingdom invites you to a discussion on ‘The impact of Brexit on regions in Belgium and The Netherlands’ with Professors Hylke Vandenbussche (KU Leuven) and Frank van Oort (Erasmus University Rotterdam).
On 31 January, the UK will formally leave the EU. While the impact of Brexit on the UK's economy has been thoroughly researched, the potential economic effects on Belgium and the rest of the EU are not talked about as often.
The Flanders Department of Foreign Affairs commissioned Professor Hylke Vandenbussche (KU Leuven) to research how Belgium's regions, communities, cities and towns will be affected by a number of possible Brexit scenarios. You can download the paper here.
We invited Professor Vandenbussche to present her research findings at Flanders House.
Also taking part in the discussion is Professor Frank van Oort (Erasmus University Rotterdam), who has conducted extensive research into the regional effects of Brexit in the EU. Professor van Oort will talk about the potential effects of Brexit on regions and communities in The Netherlands.
